The statement of N.D., who was detained in connection with the beating of CHP Edirne Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan over an alleged harassment incident, has emerged. POLICE DISPATCHED AFTER FIGHT REPORT
The incident occurred in Edirne on August 13, 2026, at around 03:15. Police teams were dispatched to the address after residents reported a "fight."
During the initial meeting at the scene, CHP Edirne Deputy Ahmet Baran Yazgan stated that he had been beaten, his phone had been taken, and his image had been recorded during the assault, and he filed a complaint.
During the search, Yazgan's mobile phone was found under the refrigerator and returned to him.
N. D.'s statement to the police, taken after being detained over the incident, included details about how the night began and how the argument turned into a fight. D. said he did not know Yazgan before he came to the house, and that a mutual argument and scuffle occurred in the later hours of the event.

D. stated that Yazgan arrived at the house about 10-15 minutes later, and they drank alcohol and chatted together for approximately two hours.
D. claimed that at around 03:00, as they were preparing to leave, Yazgan said to him, "You get up, I'll go take a p. and come back," and that he did not understand what he meant.
D. alleged that Yazgan then cursed at him, and the girls also reacted to this conversation, marking the start of the argument.

D. said that during the scuffle, he and Yazgan fell to the ground together, and he then responded in self-defense.
According to his statement, he lifted Yazgan off the ground, sat him on the concrete floor, and gave him his phone to call his driver.
D. stated that Yazgan told him his driver was a person named Y., so he called Y. on the phone, but Yazgan could not speak due to being intoxicated.

In his statement, he said, "The two men who came grabbed his arms, and just as they were taking him out onto the balcony, Baran YAZGAN gained courage from them and attacked us again."
D. claimed that at this point, Yazgan broke a glass and hurled the shards at him. In his statement, he said, "He broke the glass and threw the shard at me. While I was trying to grab the glass to defend myself, the palm of my right hand was cut."
D. also alleged that his girlfriend B. Ş. sustained an injury to her right heel during the incident.
ALLEGATIONS OF INSULTS AND ATTACK

D. claimed that after the police arrived, Yazgan continued his attempts to insult and attack them. D. noted that police teams tried to separate the parties and that T. We sat there, had something to eat, and celebrated T. A.'s birthday—cake, flowers, etc. As I, B. Ş., and T. A. were getting up to leave the venue at around 00:15, Ahmet Baran YAZGAN was also there. I do not know him at all. I had no prior relationship with him before this incident. I also did not know he was a deputy.
Upon leaving, he came up to us and introduced himself. He said, 'I am Deputy Ahmet Baran YAZGAN,' and shook hands with us. We had a brief two-minute conversation standing up. He wished T. A. a happy birthday.
From there, I, B. Ş., and D. went to T. A.'s residence. While we were sitting on the balcony, about 20-25 minutes later, T. A. said that Ahmet Baran YAZGAN would also come to celebrate the birthday. About 10-15 minutes after that conversation, Ahmet Baran YAZGAN arrived.

Ahmet Baran YAZGAN said to me, "You get up, I'm going to take a p. and leave." I told him I didn't understand what he meant. Then he said to me, "O. too, I'll take a p. and leave."
Meanwhile, the girls came back and witnessed this conversation. Upon this, the girls reacted to Ahmet Baran YAZGAN, saying, "How are you talking? You can't talk to us like this."
Ahmet Baran YAZGAN replied, "I am a member of parliament, no one can touch me, I can do whatever I want, no one can touch me," and attempted to attack the girls.

Until the police officers arrived, the people who came to the house and said they were Ahmet Baran YAZGAN's driver and advisor were trying to take Ahmet Baran YAZGAN outside. Ahmet Baran YAZGAN was still cursing at us and trying to attack.
We told them that there was a small child in the house and that we wanted them to take Ahmet Baran YAZGAN outside.
After the police officers became involved in the matter in front of the residence door, Ahmet Baran YAZGAN cursed and tried to attack me and my friends next to me. I responded.

The police officers separated us again and took Ahmet Baran YAZGAN down to the parking area. Afterwards, we were taken to the Faculty Hospital and then brought to the Police Department.
We definitely did not keep him in the house by force. We asked him to call his driver to leave the house. I spoke with his driver. We did not take Ahmet Baran YAZGAN's phone by force. He called with his phone himself, and I spoke.
Then, during that scuffle, he might have dropped the phone when his advisor and driver arrived and he attacked us.
I had a mutual struggle and fistfight with him, but it was entirely to defend myself and the girls. He was the one who broke the glass and attacked me.
