The 900% increase in water fees by the CHP-led Lüleburgaz Municipality has drawn the reaction of the city's residents. REACTION FROM AK PARTY MEMBER
AK Party Kırklareli Member of Parliament Ahmet Gökhan Sarıçam shared images of the protest on his social media account. Sarıçam stated, "The CHP-led Lüleburgaz Municipality continues to turn the most basic need of citizens into profit by raising water prices to exorbitant levels! While there are alternative income sources worth millions of lira, they are selling water like a luxury product and eyeing the people's pockets." He added, "On one hand, they provoke the public through perception operations over natural gas price increases, while on the other hand, they are the ones who exploit by selling water that is even more expensive than imported natural gas."
Comparing the water prices in the CHP-led municipality with those of AK Party municipalities in Kırklareli, Sarıçam said, "So what do the real figures say? Our AK Party municipalities prefer not to burden their citizens by keeping the price of water per cubic meter at reasonable levels: Babaeski Municipality – 15 TL, Pınarhisar Municipality – 16 TL, İğneada Municipality – 10 TL, Demirköy Municipality – 11 TL, İnece Municipality – 12 TL, Büyükmandıra Municipality – 11 TL, Pehlivanköy Municipality – 10 TL."

Sarıçam concluded his post by saying, "But the CHP-led Lüleburgaz Municipality continues to oppress for water-related reasons! It is clearly visible that it is possible to offer water at reasonable prices! However, the CHP mentality chooses to exploit the people instead of serving them. How much longer will the people of Lüleburgaz turn a blind eye to this injustice? Isn't it time to see the truth and say STOP to this oppression?"
