"WHOEVER PREFERENCES THE HOTEL'S REPUTATION OVER HUMAN LIVES WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE IN COURT"

In statements made before the program, Nedim Türkmen's brother, Lawyer Adem Türkmen, said, "There are no words to describe this pain. I am not fully aware of the situation; it feels like a dream to me. It was an unexpected situation. My brother, my sister-in-law, and the children lost their lives in their most productive years. I heard claims that hotel staff on the same floor as my brothers survived, intervened in the fire, and did not report it. If that is indeed the case, I believe it is an act close to murder. Is human life so cheap? Whoever prioritizes the hotel's reputation over human lives will be held accountable. Right now, we are busy grieving, but those who deserve it will get what they deserve," he said.

"HUMAN LIVES SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PRIORITY"

Speaking about the allegations that necessary precautions were not taken at the hotel, Türkmen stated, "If there is negligence here, there is no right or left to that negligence; a lot of people lost their lives there. We need to completely change our mindset. There are various allegations between the hotel and the municipality. Whoever is the responsible party in the municipality should have acted like this; they should have informed us that 'this hotel has deficiencies and has made such an application.' Therefore, these things should not happen anymore. While many people were dreaming of other things in the prime of their lives, very bad things happened. Right now, there are condolences, and we are sharing our sorrows. The entire family lost their lives due to ridiculous reasons in their best years. There should not be absurd things where interests come to the forefront anymore. What would it have cost to take all the precautions? Did the hotel owner profit a lot? What happened? As a result of this accident, their life also ended. People came there for vacation; their lives should have been a priority," he said.

"WE WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE IN COURT"

Lawyer Türkmen stated that they will fight for the clarification of negligence and the revelation of the truth, saying, "We will hold them accountable in court. I have not engaged in this polemic at all, nor do I want to. We will do everything we can to uncover the truth, whatever it may be. But first, let us grieve," he said. Many relatives and citizens attended the mevlit program held for the Türkmen family.
