According to Yonhap, the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) reported that 38.8 degrees Celsius was observed in Busan.
HIGHEST TEMPERATURE SINCE 1904
With this, the city surpassed the 37.7 degrees recorded as the "hottest day" in 2016, measuring the highest temperature since records began in 1904.
Meanwhile, the KMA issued a heat advisory for the east and southwest of the capital, Seoul.
