For the first time, a university campus has been included in the list of fraud and adulteration cases published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which exposes counterfeit practices in food. It was revealed that in a cafeteria at Konya Necmettin Erbakan University, the "Adana kebab" served to students contained low-cost poultry meat instead of red meat.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to relentlessly expose businesses that play with public health and mislead consumers. With the latest update, a total of 29 new products have been added to the disclosure list, two of which are directly hazardous to health. The frauds revealed in the list, which includes basic consumption items such as olive oil, molasses, minced meat, and sucuk, were truly shocking.

FRAUD IN ROASTED MEAT: SINGLE-HOOFED ANIMAL, IN SUCUK: OFFAL

The most striking findings reflected in the inspection reports occurred in meat products. In a product of a brand sold under the label "heat-treated beef sucuk," poultry meat and offal were detected. Another finding that magnified the scandal came from Diyarbakır. It was determined that a company operating in the Yenişehir district used offal (heart) along with meat from single-hoofed animals, known as horse or donkey meat, in its roasted meat product.

A UNIVERSITY CAFETERIA APPEARS ON THE DISCLOSURE LIST FOR THE FIRST TIME

The most attention-grabbing and controversial detail of the current list was the inclusion of a university cafeteria, where students meet their daily meal needs, in the adulteration table. In samples taken from the establishment named Necmettin Erbakan University E Block Restaurant Cafeteria (Şefik Kılıçaslan) in the Meram district of Konya, it was revealed that the product sold under the name "Adana kebab" was mixed with poultry meat such as chicken instead of red meat.

In the ministry's inspections, this fraudulent product, with an expiration date recorded as April 10, 2026, was evaluated under the category "Addition of a Substance Not Carrying the Same Value" and officially exposed as imitation and adulteration.
