Former HDP Co-Chair Figen Yüksekdağ, who is detained in Kandıra Prison in Kocaeli, made a statement following the visit of the DEM Party delegation.
"WE ARE READY TO CONTRIBUTE"
In her statement on social media, Yüksekdağ noted, "We are ready to take on the responsibility that falls on us to contribute to the honorable peace and democratic solution movement. I hope that we will welcome the spring of our peoples, peace, and brotherhood together."
"OUR PEOPLES NEED PEACE"
Starting her statement with "I send my greetings, respect, and love to the democratic public, our peoples, and women on the occasion of the DEM Party İmralı Committee visit," Yüksekdağ said, "We are going through a vital period for our country and region. Our peoples need peace, justice, and democracy more than ever. At this critical moment in history, Mr. Öcalan's initiative to take the lead is very valuable and decisive. We stand by this effort and will. It does not matter where we are. We may be inside, outside, or have different opinions. This does not prevent us from fulfilling our duty. We are ready to take on the responsibility that falls on us to contribute to the honorable peace and democratic solution movement."
"WE WILL BE IN SOLIDARITY AND COOPERATION"
In the continuation of her statement, Yüksekdağ said, "The subject of peace is directly the peoples of Turkey, the workers, the forces of freedom, and women. For this very reason, all social dynamics must take the initiative for the brotherhood of peoples and peace. The path to democratic rights, the guarantee of bread and labor, goes through taking this initiative today. We women will not hesitate to show the dedication and effort required for the development of the democratic solution movement regarding the Kurdish issue. We will be in solidarity and cooperation with everyone who shares this effort.
Our wish is for Mr. Öcalan to be provided with healthy working conditions so that he can fulfill his role as a center for peace and solution in the most effective way. Concrete and positive approaches will be the most decisive stage in solving the historical problem. I hope that we will welcome the spring of our peoples, peace, and brotherhood together."
