More than 3 million new files related to billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while awaiting trial for the sexual abuse of underage girls, have been made public. The new files reveal email correspondence between Landon Thomas, a member of the board of trustees of Robert College at the time, and Epstein from 2014. This development has caused a significant stir, and Robert College has issued a written statement regarding the matter.

The latest documents made public regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case have brought a striking name and institution from Turkey to the forefront. It has emerged that Thomas Landon, a member of the Board of Trustees of Robert College, requested support for the future of the school in an email sent to Epstein in 2014 and made evaluations regarding Turkey's political orientation.

"TURKEY IS EVOLVING TOWARDS CONSERVATISM"

In the email sent by Landon, it is emphasized that Robert College is a prestigious institution that has been educating Turkey's brightest students for 150 years, while the following statements regarding the political atmosphere of that time stand out: "In an era where conservative Islam is increasingly penetrating social life and the education system in Turkey, the mission of RC has never been more important."

ATTEMPT TO REACH THE GATES FOUNDATION THROUGH EPSTEIN

Landon states in his email that he is aware of Epstein's interest in scientific matters but wonders whether the issue of Robert College is "worth presenting to the Gates Foundation." The correspondence suggests that the school principal would be in New York at that time and offers to have a detailed discussion with Epstein if desired.

BRIEF RESPONSE FROM EPSTEIN: "YOU'LL TELL ME MORE WHEN WE MEET"

Jeffrey Epstein's response to Landon's long and detailed email was quite short and clear. Epstein left the door open for a face-to-face conversation by saying to Landon, "You'll tell me more when we meet." In his email, Landon also expresses that the matter is personal for him, mentioning that his father had been involved in the management of the school since the 1950s and that he is concerned about the future of Turkey.

STATEMENT FROM ROBERT COLLEGE

According to a report by Serbestiyet, Robert College made a statement after the name of its administrator, Thomas Landon, appeared in the Epstein files: "The Landon C. Thomas Jr. who sent this email was a writer for the New York Times in 2014 and also one of our American Trustees.

In 2019, he was dismissed from his job at the New York Times due to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. He left our Board of Trustees as soon as we became aware of these developments.

Landon C. Thomas Jr. is not an administrator or employee of our school and has never been. The personal opinions he expressed in his letter do not reflect the views of Robert College and the Board of Trustees. The person to whom the letter was sent has no connection whatsoever with our school, and no donations have been received from the mentioned individual."
