4 people detained in an operation in Rize on charges of procuring prostitution have been arrested. Nearly 50 victims were interviewed in the investigation, and it was alleged that among them were politicians, businesspeople, lawyers, and healthcare workers.
In a comprehensive operation in Rize against individuals accused of mediating prostitution, 4 suspects were taken into custody. Dozens of victims were interviewed as part of the investigation.
THEY WERE FOLLOWED FOR 3 MONTHS
In the investigation coordinated by the Rize Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau for the Protection of the Family and Crimes Against Sexual Inviolability, police teams conducted three months of technical and physical surveillance.
A SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION WAS CARRIED OUT
Following work by the Rize Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Directorate's Morals Bureau, a simultaneous operation was conducted against the suspects.
VICTIMS INCLUDE BUSINESS PEOPLE AND POLITICIANS
During the operation, 4 individuals were detained on charges of "promoting and mediating prostitution," "procuring premises for prostitution," and "blackmail." Statements were taken from nearly 50 victims believed to be connected to the incident. According to information obtained, it was alleged that among the victims interviewed were politicians, business people, legal professionals, and healthcare workers.
4 PEOPLE ARRESTED
After their procedures at the police station were completed, the 4 suspects were arrested by the duty magistrate's court following their interrogation by the prosecutor's office. The suspects were sent to the Ministry of Justice L-Type Kalkandere Penal Institution. It was learned that the investigation is ongoing, and statements will also be taken from other individuals alleged to be connected to the suspects.
