As the United States went to the polls for midterm elections that will shape President Donald Trump’s administration’s legislative power and the political balance in Congress, posters targeting Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu were hung in Iran’s capital, Tehran. The posters featured the English slogan “We will kill Trump.”
In the giant banner hung at Enghelab Square, one of Tehran's important landmarks, US President Trump is depicted representationally behind bars, while the message "We will kill Trump" was written on the banner in English and Persian.
BANNER FEATURING NETANYAHU IN ANOTHER AREA
In another area of the square, a picture was displayed depicting US President Trump, Trump's Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, US Vice President JD Vance, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu exhausted and with their clothes torn. The picture also featured burned and torn US and Israeli flags.
A PROTEST WAS HELD
About 500 people gathered in the square held a small-scale protest. Demonstrators carrying Iranian and Hezbollah flags chanted slogans against the US and Israel. Some demonstrators trampled placards bearing Trump's picture underfoot.
Some people participating in the demonstration were seen wearing shrouds.
