MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, after putting his first signature on the framework bill proposal, said, 'With this signature, our thousand-year-old brotherhood has been registered once again.' Stating that he communicates with Selahattin Demirtaş through his lawyers, Bahçeli said, 'I regularly keep in touch and ask how he is doing. He also sends me his regards. We have good relations. Additionally, I ask whether he has any requests or demands.'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli made statements to Millet News Agency Editor-in-Chief Sinan Burhan after affixing the first signature to the framework law proposal. Bahceli, who gave important messages about the process, used striking expressions regarding Selahattin Demirtas and Abdullah Ocalan.

"WITH THIS SIGNATURE, OUR THOUSAND-YEAR BROTHERHOOD HAS BEEN REGISTERED"

Bahceli, who took the first step of the "Terror-Free Turkey" process with his speech in Parliament two years ago, emphasized the importance of this step in his assessment after signing the law proposal.

Bahceli expressed his feelings with these words:

"May this signature we have affixed be auspicious and fortunate. With this signature, our thousand-year brotherhood has been registered once again. Everyone has won, whether Turk or Kurd, regardless of language or identity. Our 86 million citizens and the peoples of the Middle East have won. At the same time, the first step towards the disruption of global projects has been taken. On this occasion, I thank our President and our Speaker of Parliament."

"IT IS NOT RIGHT TO GET AHEAD OF THE WORK CARRIED OUT BY THE SPEAKER OF PARLIAMENT"

Describing the steps taken as a state project, Bahceli said in his assessment of the process, "This project is a state project. Our Parliament has taken the necessary initiative on this matter. Our state is carrying out the necessary work. We will all follow this process together."

Bahceli, who also clarified questions about why he did not mention this process in recent MHP group meetings, gave the following answer:

"We are sometimes asked why we do not mention the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process in our recent group speeches... We adhere to the etiquette of the state. Our President is closely following the process. Our Speaker of Parliament is also addressing the issue. We also support them. It is not right to get ahead of the work they are carrying out."

"I COMMUNICATE WITH DEMIRTAS THROUGH HIS LAWYERS AND ASK ABOUT HIS WELL-BEING"

One of the most striking parts of the interview was the answer given to Sinan Burhan's question, "Dear Chairman, what do you think about Selahattin Demirtas?"

Bahceli answered this question as follows:

"I did not visit Selahattin Demirtas. However, I regularly communicate with him through his lawyers and ask about his well-being. He also sends his regards to me. We have a good relationship. Additionally, I ask him whether he has any requests or wishes. We worked together with Demirtas in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey."

Noting that he stands by his words when reminded of his past statement "Let Selahattin Demirtas return home," Bahceli concluded his remarks with the following striking statements:

"I say the same thing again. Selahattin Demirtas should return to his home, the Ahmet brothers should return to their duties, and Ocalan should attain his right to hope. Turkey should find peace. Our goal is for Turkey and the region to achieve peace."
