In operations carried out in Ankara over the past week targeting drug trafficking, 154 suspects were detained. Of the suspects, 69 were arrested and sent to prison. In the operations conducted between October 18 and 24, 614,330 units of synthetic drugs, approximately 18 kilograms of cannabis, 11 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 1.6 kilograms of cocaine were seized.
The Ankara Provincial Police Department announced the one-week summary of its operations targeting people who supply and traffic narcotics. During the operations, a large amount of narcotics as well as weapons and money were seized.
OPERATION BETWEEN OCTOBER 18-24
Teams from the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Narcotic Crimes Combating Branch Directorate conducted comprehensive work between October 18 and 24 targeting people who supply and traffic narcotics. In the operations, 154 suspects were caught and taken into custody.
69 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
Following procedures at the police station, 69 of the 154 suspects referred to judicial authorities were arrested and sent to prison.
614 THOUSAND SYNTHETIC PHARMACEUTICALS SEIZED
During searches carried out as part of the operations, 614,330 synthetic pharmaceuticals, 17 kilograms 974 grams of cannabis, 11 kilograms 343 grams of methamphetamine, 10 kilograms 500 grams of liquid cannabis, 1 kilogram 695 grams of cocaine, 421 grams of A.M. substance and 72 grams of bonsai were seized. Fourteen precision scales were also found in the searches.
WEAPONS AND MONEY ALSO FOUND
In the operations, 2 handguns, 2 blank-firing guns, 1 shotgun, 4 magazines and a total of 126 cartridges were also seized. The teams also confiscated 366,330 Turkish lira, 2,750 euros and 950 dollars in the searches.
