In the dawn operation carried out against the Furkan Foundation in Adana, founding president Alparslan Kuytul and his wife Semra Kuytul were detained. During the detention, while supporters of Kuytul, who tried to prevent the police vehicle from moving, lay down in front of the vehicle, special operations police intervened in the tension.
Adana Police Department Anti-Terrorism Branch teams conducted a large-scale operation against the Furkan Foundation at dawn. The foundation's Founding President Alparslan Kuytul and his wife Semra Kuytul were detained after a search of their home.
As part of the operation launched in the early morning hours, numerous police teams were dispatched to the front of the house where Alparslan Kuytul resides. Following the search and examinations carried out at the house, Alparslan Kuytul and his wife Semra Kuytul were taken into custody by police teams.
THEY WERE SUBJECTED TO A HEALTH CHECK
The detained Kuytul couple and foundation members were brought to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institution to undergo a health check under extensive security measures. After their procedures and health reports were completed, the suspects were taken to the Provincial Police Department for questioning.
SUPPORTERS LAID DOWN IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE
During the detention process, supporters of Alparslan Kuytul gathered in the streets. Some of the group members, who wanted to prevent the police vehicle carrying Kuytul from moving, lay down in front of the vehicle. Amid the ensuing tension, Special Operations police officers who took precautions in the area intervened, prevented the group from interfering with the vehicle, and ensured the police vehicle's passage by dispersing the supporters.
