Syrian President Ahmed Shara appointed actress Rozina Lazkani as a member of parliament as part of his appointments to the transitional parliament. Lazkani, who has no prior political experience, thanked Shara for the appointment, while it was announced that 70 of the 210 seats in the People's Assembly are directly appointed by the President.
Syrian President Ahmed Shara directly appointed 70 members of the 210-seat People's Assembly, which will serve during the country's transitional period. According to the Syrian official news agency SANA, the appointed individuals include 36-year-old actress Rozina Lazkani.
Lazkani, known for her performance in the series "Al-Hayba," which is also broadcast on Netflix, thus became one of the individuals to serve in the Syrian parliament.

Lazkani, appointed as a deputy, thanked President Ahmed Shara in a post on her social media account.
Stating that the trust placed in her is one of the most important turning points in her career, Lazkani said she would work to be worthy of this trust.
NO POLITICAL EXPERIENCE
It was reported that Rozina Lazkani, who began her television career in 2014, has not previously held any public office.
Among the 70 people directly appointed by Shara are relatives of civil war victims, former prisoners, and survivors of chemical attacks during the Assad era.
Women constitute 15 of the 70 appointees, and with the addition of six female members determined by the electoral commission, the number of female deputies in parliament has risen to 21.
