The Deputy Chief of General Staff, General Kemal Yeni, who was appointed as the Commander of the 3rd Army by the decisions of the Supreme Military Council, has submitted his retirement request. It is expected that a new appointment will be made to replace Yeni, whose request is being processed.
Recently, a surprise separation from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) came with the decisions of the Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) convened under the chairmanship of President Erdoğan.

Following the unexpected retirement of Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak within the framework of the YAŞ decisions, General Kemal Yeni, who served as the right-hand man of Gürak at the headquarters, was appointed to the 3rd Army Command stationed in Erzincan from Ankara. It has been learned that General Kemal Yeni submitted his retirement request after the appointment decisions, and this request has been processed.
APPOINTMENT WILL BE MADE
Yeni, who served as the Commander of the Aegean Army in 2022, had been in the position of Deputy Chief of General Staff since 2023. Following Yeni's retirement, a new appointment to the 3rd Army Command is expected to be made shortly.
