As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the advertisements of illegal betting sites, a blow has also come from the RTÜK (Radio and Television Supreme Council) to Acun Ilıcalı, for whom an indictment has been prepared.
The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has also penalized the competition program called Survivor. A fine of 17 million 852 thousand 40 TL was imposed on the program broadcasted on TV8, owned by Fenerbahçe Vice President Acun Ilıcalı, due to 'discussions and images related to violence.'
"VIOLENCE-GLORIFYING BROADCAST"
The decision stated that there is 'more violence than in real life' and included the expressions: "The viewer witnesses various acts of violence such as fights, murders, suicides, robberies, assaults, sexual harassment, and torture in media content. Discussions about the significant impact of media on the increase in violent incidents and violent behaviors in daily life remain on the agenda."
3% OF THE REVENUE GONE
Due to the violation of the principle stated in the RTÜK law that 'violence-glorifying broadcasts cannot be made'; a fine equivalent to 3% of the total revenue of TV8, which is 595 million 67 thousand 983 TL for December 2024, was imposed.
"I'LL TEAR YOU APART, SIT DOWN"
In the episodes of Survivor aired on January 16 and 18; dialogues such as "What happened? Don't shout in my ear, you'll see, shut up, sit down. I'll tear you apart, you're going crazy" between contestants Almeda, İsmail, and Adilhan were examined. It was emphasized that the contestants approached each other aggressively, and that images of violence such as pushing and choking were also broadcasted.
