The suspicion of mass poisoning that hospitalized nearly 3,000 citizens in Tokat has also brought the city’s education and public life to a standstill. In order to prevent the spread of the outbreak and ensure student health, all schools in the city center were closed for disinfection work, while administrative leave was granted to public personnel in the sensitive group.
In Tokat, after a large number of people applied to health institutions due to stomach and intestinal complaints, a precautionary decision was taken in schools. In educational institutions in the city center, education will be suspended for one day on Monday, October 12, in order to carry out comprehensive disinfection.
PRECAUTIONARY DECISION TAKEN FOLLOWING COMPLAINTS
In Tokat, action was taken after applications to health institutions began starting from the evening of Friday, October 9, with complaints of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Following the developments, it was decided to carry out detailed disinfection work in educational institutions.
DISINFECTION WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN SCHOOLS
In line with the decision taken, educational activities will be suspended on Monday, October 12, in all public and private educational institutions in the Tokat city center. The implementation will cover formal and non-formal educational institutions as well as rehabilitation centers. It is aimed to carry out disinfection work under more efficient and sterile conditions.
PREGNANT AND DISABLED PERSONNEL WILL BE CONSIDERED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE
Within the scope of the measures, pregnant and disabled personnel working in public institutions and organizations will also be considered on administrative leave on Monday, October 12. While the measures taken after applications to health institutions in the city are being implemented, no statement has yet been made regarding the results of investigations into the cause of the illnesses.
