The health condition of MHP MP Zuhal Karakoç, who was injured in a traffic accident that occurred in the convoy of the MHP delegation in Kahramanmaraş and in which 1 person lost their life, has been determined. It was stated that Karakoç, who was injured along with 6 people in the accident, is not in life-threatening danger, but the back condition she had previously experienced has recurred. It was reported that Karakoç will be transferred to Ankara by air ambulance.
A loss of life occurred in an accident in the convoy of the MHP delegation that set out for district visits in Kahramanmaraş.
A pickup truck with license plate 07 L 6050 and a car with license plate 46 AY 069, whose drivers' identities have not yet been determined, collided at the Gerger Neighborhood junction of the Afşin-Elbistan highway.
1 PERSON LOST THEIR LIFE, 7 PEOPLE WERE INJURED, INCLUDING MP ZUHAL KARAKOÇ
Following the report, medical, gendarmerie, police, and firefighter teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
Medical teams determined that Samet Özdemir, who was in the pickup truck, had lost his life.
Seven people were injured in the accident, including MHP Kahramanmaraş MP Karakoç, a bodyguard police officer, and MHP Kahramanmaraş Provincial Chairman Metehan.
The injured were taken to Afşin State Hospital. Karakoç and Metehan were transferred to Kahramanmaraş State Hospital after initial treatment at Afşin State Hospital.
"NO LIFE-THREATENING DANGER, WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO ANKARA"
Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer, AK Party Kahramanmaraş MP Ömer Oruç Bilal Debgici, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Sadık Gülecen, AK Party Provincial Chairman Muhammed Burak Gül, and district mayors visited Karakoç and Metehan at the hospital and received information about their health conditions.
In a statement to journalists at the hospital exit, Ünlüer stated that the injured were in good health.
Wishing God's mercy on Özdemir, who lost his life in the accident, and a speedy recovery to the injured, Ünlüer said: "Our MP Zuhal Karakoç is not in life-threatening danger. She previously had a problem with her back. Due to the accident, this problem has recurred. For this reason, our doctors who were previously involved in her treatment want to see her again. We will carry out her transfer to Ankara by air ambulance via Hatay. Due to weather conditions, it was not possible for the plane to land in Kahramanmaraş or Gaziantep."
Zuhal Karakoç, after the procedures, was taken to Hatay Airport by ambulance to be transferred to Ankara.
While the injured continue to receive treatment, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
