Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara met with a delegation of US Congress members led by US Special Representative for Syria and Iraq Tom Barrack in Ankara. The meeting was also attended by the Syrian Foreign Minister and US senators.
Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara met in Ankara with a delegation from the US Congress led by Tom Barrack, the US Special Representative for Syria and Iraq.
According to a post on the Syrian Presidency's social media accounts, al-Shara and his accompanying delegation met with the US Congressional delegation led by Tom Barrack on the sidelines of the NATO Summit.
WHO WAS AT THE MEETING?
The meeting was attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, Permanent Representative to the UN Ibrahim al-Ulabi, and Saad Barud, Head of the US Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the US side, prominent figures included Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Senior Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from the Democratic Party, and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
