"WHY IS MY FIRE CHIEF DETAINED?"
Özcan stated, "What right does the minister have to explain this to us in a matter that is clearly outside the jurisdiction of my municipality and where we have no inspection authority? I am ashamed in respect for the funerals of those people; the minister is not ashamed. Why is my fire chief detained? No bureaucrat from the ministry has been called in for detention," and added, "It is unclear whether a crime has been committed. The ministry says they inspected; where is the inspection report? Let them explain. The responsibility for inspecting fires has been given to the ministry."
"DON'T BE SO HEARTLESS"
In response to Özcan's words, Abdulkadir Selvi said, "79 of our people have lost their lives. Are you challenging us here?" to which Özcan replied, "What should I do? Don't be so heartless," causing the tension to rise suddenly.
