Following the school attacks in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, teachers have decided to go on strike. Eğitim-İş and Eğitim-Sen announced that there will be a three-day nationwide work stoppage on April 15, 16, and 17.

TEACHERS TO GO ON STRIKE FOR 3 DAYS
The Education and Science Workers' Union (Eğitim-İş) and the Education and Science Employees' Union (Eğitim-Sen) stated that after the recent attacks, violence in education has reached an unacceptable level, and announced that there will be a nationwide work stoppage for 3 days on April 15, 16, and 17.
"NO TO VIOLENCE IN SCHOOLS!"
A statement on the issue from Eğitim-Sen's official social media account included the following expressions: "Due to the school attacks in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, we are carrying out a '2 MORE DAYS WORK STOPPAGE' action by using the power derived from production in all workplaces across Turkey. We invite all our members, education and science workers, and the concerned public to join the 'LIFE VIGIL' we started in front of the Ministry of National Education in Ankara."
"WE CONTINUE TO SHOUT THAT VIOLENCE IN EDUCATION IS NOT FATE"
The statement made by Eğitim-İş was as follows: "After the attack in Kahramanmaraş, where according to initial determinations, 1 teacher and 3 students lost their lives, we have once again seen that neither students nor education workers are safe in schools! As Eğitim-İş, we continue to shout that violence in education is not fate. Therefore; we are not remaining silent in the face of the attacks, we are not stepping back. For our children's right to life, for the safety of education workers, we are STOPPING WORK on April 15, 16, 17. This is a struggle for professional dignity."
