Teams mobilized for British tourist missing in Kackar Mountain

Dan Mammsdroller, a 22-year-old British tourist who lost his way at an altitude of 3,100 meters on Mount Kaçkar, was safely evacuated to Avusor Highland following an operation by AFAD and JAK teams after contact was established via 112.

The natural wonder Avusor Plateau in Rize's Çamlıhemşin district witnessed busy hours. Dan Mammsdroller, a 22-year-old British citizen who lost his way while climbing in the Kaçkar Mountain area, was rescued thanks to the timely intervention of the teams.

ASKED FOR HELP WHEN HE LOST HIS WAY

According to the information obtained, the young tourist, who could not find his way due to fog and challenging terrain conditions at an altitude of 3,100 meters, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center and asked for help. Upon the notification, the teams took action, communicated with the tourist over the phone, ensured he did not panic, and precisely determined his location.

NUMEROUS PERSONNEL TOOK PART

Search and rescue teams were dispatched to the region to ensure the safe evacuation of the stranded British tourist to the nearest settlement. Within the scope of the operation, a total of 13 personnel and 3 vehicles were assigned, including 8 personnel and 2 vehicles from AFAD, and 5 personnel and 1 vehicle from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Gendarmerie Search and Rescue Team (JAK).

HEALTH CONDITION IS GOOD

As a result of the coordinated work of the teams, the point where Dan Mammsdroller was located was successfully reached. The young tourist, whose health condition was learned to be good, was brought down to Avusor Plateau accompanied by the teams and evacuated to a safe area.
