Candan Yüceer, Mayor of Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality, who left the CHP on August 24 and joined the New Party, has resigned from her party. Reacting to personal interest struggles within the party and disagreements during the congress process, Yüceer stated that she was not even registered as a congress delegate during the period she was bedridden. Saying "I did not engage in politics to make seat calculations," Yüceer emphasized that political courtesy and the law of comradeship had been damaged.
