Scorpions emerging from their nests due to Batman's scorching heat are causing terrifying moments for the villagers. As poisonous scorpions enter even the homes, daily life has come to a standstill, and worried citizens are demanding urgent pesticide spraying from authorities.
Scorpions, multiplying with the rising temperature in the village of Binatlı, affiliated to the central district of Batman, are worrying the residents.
RESIDENTS CALL FOR PESTICIDE SPRAYING
Scorpions, emerging from their shelters as air temperatures rise, have begun to be seen on the streets and inside homes, especially in the evening hours. Residents, stating that children and the elderly have difficulty going out due to the scorpions, have called on authorities to carry out pesticide spraying.
"WE EVEN CHECK THE INSIDES OF OUR SHOES"
Orhan Tekin, a resident of the village, stating that scorpions negatively affect daily life, said, "Especially in the evening hours, scorpions come out of their shelters. It is possible to see scorpions in the alleys and inside our homes. Before wearing our shoes, we even check them, just in case. Our elderly and children have become unable to go out on the streets because of the scorpions."
Tekin, claiming that they have conveyed the situation to the authorities many times but have not yet received results, said, "Does someone need to be stung by a scorpion for pesticide spraying to be done? We want the entire village to be sprayed as soon as possible."
