The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) imposed a fine of 16,000 TL on Bursaspor due to abusive chants directed at former HDP MP Leyla Zana during the match against Somaspor. Additionally, significant monetary penalties were also applied to Bursaspor for other violations.
TFF PFDK imposed a penalty for insulting chants directed at Leyla Zana during the TFF 2nd League match played in Soma between Somaspor and Bursaspor.
16,000 TL FINE FOR UGLY AND BAD CHANTS In a statement regarding the matter, PFDK noted that "Bursaspor Club has been fined 16,000 TL in accordance with Article 53/2 of the FDT due to the ugly and bad chants caused by its supporters during the Somaspor-Bursaspor Nesine 2nd League Red Group match played on December 16, 2025, and because this action was repeated for the second time in a match where it was the guest club in the same season."
PFDK, which also penalized incidents within the same match, stated that "Bursaspor Club has been fined 211,000 TL in accordance with Article 49/3 of the FDT for not leaving the stairwell spaces empty and because this action was repeated for the 7th time in the same season; Bursaspor Club has been fined 55,000 TL in accordance with Articles 52/2 and 46/1 of the FDT due to incidents caused by its supporters; Bursaspor Club has been fined 60,000 TL in accordance with Article 47/2 of the FDT for Misuse of Documents and by applying Article 13 of the FDT; and Bursaspor Club coaches Emrah Tanta and Haci Kaya have been penalized with a 1-month suspension due to their participation in the Misuse of Documents in accordance with Article 47/1-c of the FDT and by applying Article 13 of the FDT."
WHAT HAPPENED? During the Somaspor-Bursaspor match in the Nesine 2nd League, the insulting chants directed at former HDP MP Leyla Zana by Bursaspor supporters caused a backlash. Many politicians had called on the Bursaspor management and TFF regarding the issue.
