Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra was hospitalized after returning from a visit to Cambodia, complaining of high fever and weakness. The government spokesperson stated that Shinawatra is resting and will remain under medical supervision.
The Thai Government Spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub announced that Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra fell ill after her recent official visit to Cambodia and was hospitalized on Thursday night in the capital, Bangkok. Spokesperson Houngsub stated that Prime Minister Shinawatra is experiencing high fever and fatigue and will remain under medical supervision for a while. Houngsub reported that Shinawatra's scheduled activities for today have been canceled.

In a photo shared on social media by Shinawatra's wife, Pitaka Suksawat, it was seen that Shinawatra is resting. In her post, Pitaka Suksawat stated, "I didn't listen to whoever warned me. In the end, my body told me I couldn't handle it." The 38-year-old Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who took office after the general elections held last year, is the country's youngest prime minister and the daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Shinawatra had made her first official visit to Cambodia on April 23-24.
