Stating that the party will vote 'yes' because it views the constitutional framework as a matter of state survival and national interest, CHP Elazig Deputy Gursel Erol emphasized the role of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli in initiating the process. Erol thanked Bahceli, saying, 'No one other than you could have started this process, no one would have dared, no one could have brought it to the agenda.'
CHP Elazig Deputy Gursel Erol, in his speech at the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly, made evaluations regarding the "Framework Law" and thanked MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli. Erol, who stated that he voted "yes" because he sees the law as a matter of state survival and a state issue, said to Bahceli, "No one other than you could have started this process, no one would have dared, no one would have brought it to the agenda."
In his speech, Erol emphasized that Turkey is not the property of the AK Party, but the common country of all citizens. Stating that Turkish Republic citizenship is a common identity, Erol said that Turkish, Kurdish, Alevi, Sunni, Zaza, Circassian, Laz, and Georgian citizens may have different identities and values, but they are citizens of the same country.
"THIS COUNTRY IS NOT THE AK PARTY'S"
Gursel Erol, stating that the concepts of government and state should be separated, spoke as follows:
"This country is not the AK Party's. The AK Party is merely the government; it is not the state. Governments come and go, the state is permanent."
Expressing that Turkey is a common homeland, Erol drew attention to the fact that citizens with different ethnic origins, beliefs, and cultures are under the same roof.

Erol stated that he evaluated the said regulation as a matter of state survival and a state issue, and announced that he cast a "yes" vote in the General Assembly.
CHP member Erol, stating that Turkish Republic citizenship is a common identity, expressed that differences should not constitute an obstacle in front of the country's common future.
