A public library in Long Island, New York, has been the scene of a sickening child abuse case. Authorities announced that an 18-year-old private tutor sexually abused a 7-year-old girl multiple times inside the library building.
TRICKED HER BY SAYING "I'LL GIVE YOU A SECRET"
According to court records obtained by the Nassau County Police Department and local media, the series of incidents occurred in May at the Port Washington Public Library. Suspect Taylor Lindberg is alleged to have abused the young child for the first time while tutoring her on May 11.
Only a week after this incident, it was reported that Lindberg took the victim to the library basement by saying, "I'll give you a secret," where he again abused the child and took photos with his cell phone.
RELEASED ON $50,000 BAIL
The young tutor was brought before a judge on Wednesday and charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. However, it was learned that Lindberg was released after paying $50,000 in cash or a $100,000 bail set by the court.
While the decision to release him on bail sparked public outrage, detectives deepening the investigation fear that other children the suspect previously tutored may also be at risk.
