The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continuously updates the list of 'Imitation or Adulterated Foods' published within the scope of food safety, while companies producing fraudulent products have been identified in 62 provinces across Turkey. In contrast, it has been determined that no fraudulent or health-hazardous food production has taken place in 19 provinces.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has been conducting inspections in two categories, 'Foods That Endanger Health' and 'Imitation or Adulterated Foods', in a list published and regularly updated since October 2, 2024. To date, a total of 189 companies from 62 different provinces have been placed on the 'red list' due to products containing harmful substances. Additionally, 963 companies that deceive consumers by imitation or adulteration have been included in the 'orange list'.

OLIVE OIL AND SAUSAGE LEAD THE LIST

In the inspections conducted, the most frequently adulterated products are olive oil, sausage, and dairy products. Particularly, the mixing of other oils with olive oil, maintaining a low meat ratio in sausage, and the use of additives in dairy products are notable irregularities. Such fraud threatens consumer health while also undermining food safety.
