Two individuals arrived on a motorcycle in Taksim and carried out an armed attack on two nightclubs located side by side. The attackers, who were captured 7 hours later, were identified as 19-year-old twin brothers. In their statements, the attackers claimed that they had been assaulted by 18 people in 2024 and that they carried out the attack for revenge.

In Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, around 07:30, a horrifying incident occurred in the Katip Mustafa Çelebi neighborhood. According to the information obtained, one of the two suspects who arrived on a motorcycle pulled out a gun and opened fire on two nightclubs located side by side. After the incident, the two suspects got back on the motorcycle and quickly fled the scene. There were no fatalities or injuries in the attack, but the terrifying moments were captured second by second on security cameras.

DOZENS OF CAMERA FOOTAGE EXAMINED

Following the attack, the police from the B Region Teams Directorate of the Security Teams started an investigation and began examining the security camera footage from the street. In their efforts, the Security Teams watched dozens of security camera recordings one by one and determined that the suspects had fled to the Fatih Zeyrek neighborhood. Meanwhile, the team conducting a historical investigation related to the businesses that were hit found that the individuals involved in a fight at the club in 2024 resembled the attackers who fled on the motorcycle.

CAUGHT 7 HOURS LATER

From there, the Security Teams discovered that the attackers from the fight and those who had assaulted the victims in a previous incident had filed complaints against each other. In ongoing security camera investigations, two suspects, identified as residing in a building in Zeyrek neighborhood, were caught by the Security Teams 7 hours after the incident.
