The Tekwando Conquest Cup, organized in Istanbul in collaboration with the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) and the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, was held at the Bağcılar Multi-Purpose Sports Hall with the participation of many young athletes.
The Turkey Youth Foundation (TUGVA), together with the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, organized the Istanbul Taekwondo Conquest Cup event.
FIRST EDITION OF THE TAEKWONDO CONQUEST CUP The event, held at the Bagcilar Multi-Purpose Sports Hall with the participation of many young athletes from different districts of Istanbul, has concluded.
"WE AIM TO CONTRIBUTE TO TURKEY'S FUTURE" TUGVA Istanbul Provincial Representative Beytullah Çiçen stated that they direct young people to sports and invest in Turkey's future, saying, "A young person first wants to be taken seriously. Sports show that the child is taken seriously. If a family wants to invest in their child, they should start with sports. We have seen that children involved in sports have serious self-confidence. They stand against addictions. They do not become captives of the digital world. Every child engaged in sports is a saved child who contributes to Turkey's future. With this organization, we also want to contribute to Turkey's future."
"THERE ARE MANY SERIOUS ATHLETES" Noting that participation in the event was very good, Çiçen said, "Everyone in Turkey loves sports very much. There are very serious athletes in amateur sports that are not seen. Participation is very good compared to the first year. Hopefully, it will increase in the next year and become a tradition. There is a significant number of licensed athletes in individual sports. By investing here, we can contribute to Turkey's development in sports. May is the month when Fatih Sultan Mehmet Khan conquered Istanbul. We wanted to organize a conquest cup together with the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, TUGVA Istanbul organization, and Pusula Conquest Sports Club. We embarked on such a goal for the first time. Nearly 40 clubs and around 200 athletes are showcasing themselves here. In an era where everyone invests in and cares about young people, sports are indispensable. Taekwondo is also a sport that attracts great interest in Turkey. I hope the Conquest Cup continues after us and becomes a tradition. With this unity, hopefully, we will organize more sports events in Istanbul and contribute to young people."
"WE WILL DO GREAT THINGS TOGETHER WITH TUGVA" Turkish Taekwondo Federation Representative Bekir Türk said the following:
"From now on, we will do great things together with TUGVA. Because our goal is the same: to take our youth to very good places. We saw the dedication in TUGVA. We also stated that we will support them in every area they are involved in. You see what has been happening in schools recently. All of our aim is to raise our youth very well and bring them to a place where they can serve our country. Success comes later. TUGVA is putting in good efforts in this matter, and as a federation, we will stand by them."
