Great Unity Party Chairman Mustafa Destici called for an increase in holiday bonuses for retirees during Eid al-Adha. Destici said, 'Let's give our retirees a 10,000 lira bonus for Eid al-Adha so they can at least buy a small sacrificial animal.'
The Great Unity Party (BBP) Ankara Ordinary Provincial Congress was held at Altınpark Congress Center.
MOTHER'S DAY MESSAGE
Speaking at the congress, BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici, recalling that it was Mother's Day, said, "Mothers are the most beautiful representatives of love, compassion, sacrifice, and patience on earth. A person's character, a nation's conscience, and a society's future are first shaped in the hearts of our mothers. Because a mother is not only the one who raises her child but also the greatest teacher of the nation's spirit. Mothers of martyrs, who lay their children in the soil for the homeland yet maintain their resilience, are among the greatest sources of honor and pride for our nation. Their sacrifice will forever live in the memory of this nation. With these feelings and thoughts, I sincerely congratulate all our mothers, especially the mothers of martyrs and veterans, who embody love and sacrifice, on Mother's Day," he said.
"WE WILL EUTHANIZE AGGRESSIVE, STRAY DOGS SO THAT OUR PEOPLE DO NOT DIE"
Stating that necessary measures must be taken regarding stray dogs wandering the streets, Destici said, "Hundreds of thousands, millions of people have been killed in Palestine, Gaza, and East Turkestan. Mothers' hearts have been broken and continue to burn. Dogs are tearing apart children, again mothers' hearts are burning. Our young girls are being kidnapped, raped, and killed, again mothers' hearts are burning. Everywhere, in every area, unfortunately, our mothers continue to cry and shed tears. Therefore, as the Great Unity Party, we say that our mothers should no longer cry. If municipalities, governorates, or state institutions have the means, let us collect the stray dogs wandering the streets and take them to shelters. But if this is not possible, to prevent our children, women, and people from dying, we will, when necessary, of course, euthanize aggressive, ownerless dogs," he spoke.
"A MOTHER WITH 3 CHILDREN SHOULD BE GIVEN A REGULAR SALARY"
Stating that every married couple should be given at least 500 thousand lira in grants by state institutions, Destici said, "We will also protect our family structure, our army, and our teachers. In short, we will protect every honorable child of this nation. We will further encourage marriage. We will provide more support to our young people who are getting married. We will increase per-child aid further. A mother with 3 children should be given a regular salary. Our young people getting married should be granted the right to buy a vehicle without special consumption tax and value-added tax. Our Presidency of Religious Affairs provides 500 thousand lira in dowry aid to young couples through a draw. All our institutions should be encouraged in this regard. Every married couple should be given at least 500 thousand lira as a grant by our institutions and the state," he stated.

Stating that necessary regulations must be made to prevent exorbitant price increases in the food sector, Destici said, "Our retirees' bonuses were not increased for Eid al-Fitr; they remained at 4 thousand lira. But for Eid al-Adha, they cannot stay stagnant. Because there is inflation, there is a high cost of living. Especially there is food inflation. Food inflation worldwide is 2 percent annually; in our country it is 32 percent, exactly 16 times higher. In all our neighboring countries, food, vegetables, fruits, milk—everything is much cheaper than here. Therefore, this situation now needs to be regulated. Those who sell at exorbitant prices should have their hands broken, their shops closed. That's why we say let's give our retirees a 10 thousand lira bonus for Eid al-Adha so they can at least buy a small sacrificial animal," he expressed.
