THE PROJECT PROCESS LASTED 3 YEARS
Niğde Mayor Emrah Özdemir stated that the project process has been ongoing for about 3 years, mentioning that collaborations were made with university academics and expert teams at different times, and thousands of vehicle counts and route analyses were conducted.

Mayor Özdemir stated that they implemented the project with the aim of easing vehicle traffic in the city center, increasing pedestrian safety, and ensuring a regular flow of transportation in the city center; he noted that there were some temporary confusions at certain points during the implementation process, and this situation is part of a planned observation process. Özdemir said, "We are currently monitoring the areas with the highest pedestrian traffic. After these observations, we will increase the number of pedestrian crossings. Our goal is for the project to be fully functional by January 1, 2026."

Mayor Özdemir, stating that information activities are ongoing to help tradesmen and drivers adapt to the new regulations, said, "Our project was implemented to make life easier for citizens, not to complicate it. Many incorrect information is circulating on social media. Therefore, we believe that the comments made before the project started are not very valid. The project was implemented on Saturday, and we waited to see the results. Now we are ready to answer citizens' questions and hold consultations. We have now implemented the one-way regulation that has been discussed in Niğde for many years. This project has been on the agenda for about 20-25 years. Of course, there may be criticisms, as with any project. However, our priority is to ensure that traffic flows smoothly and efficiently," he expressed.
REQUESTED PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING FROM CITIZENS
Niğde Mayor Emrah Özdemir expressed that efforts are ongoing to address the unfinished deficiencies and to reach the final state of the project, requesting patience and understanding from the citizens.
