In the accident, 1 woman lost her life, and 4 others were injured. The bus driver and the motorcycle rider were taken into custody. IETT BUS CRASHES INTO BUS STOP: 1 DEAD, 4 INJURED
The accident occurred around 14:25 in the Mehmet Akif neighborhood on Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu Street. According to the information obtained, the driver of the IETT bus with license plate 34 HO 3430 started arguing with the motorcycle rider with license plate 02 AFN 584 over yielding in traffic. While the bus driver was driving towards the motorcycle rider, he lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into 3 vehicles in front of the medical center and then into the Çamlık bus stop where passengers were waiting. In the accident, 1 woman who was trapped under the bus was taken to the hospital as an injured person and later died, while 4 others were injured. The bus driver and the motorcycle rider were taken into custody. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
STATEMENT FROM IETT
In a written statement made by IETT, it was stated, "Today at 14:42, a private public bus belonging to Özulaş was involved in a chain traffic accident at the Çamlık bus stop in the Çamlık neighborhood of Çekmeköy district. According to initial determinations, a total of 4 people, including the private public bus driver, were injured. An administrative and judicial investigation has been initiated by our Institution and law enforcement agencies regarding the accident. The condition of the injured is being closely monitored by our Institution."
