The tension rose in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Deputy Speaker Pervin Buldan announced that İYİ Party Gaziantep Deputy Mehmet Mustafa Gülban sent her a sexist message.
THE TENSION STARTED WITH THE "ÖCALAN" DEBATE
The debate began after Buldan expressed her discomfort regarding Abdullah Öcalan in statements she made some time ago about the resolution process. Following these remarks, particularly from the İYİ Party side, there were harsh criticisms claiming that Öcalan was trying to manipulate the media and attempting to restrict freedom of expression.
HARSH WORDS FROM ÇÖMEZ
Speaking in the session at the Assembly, İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Turhan Çömez stated towards Buldan, "You have no responsibility to bring the messages of a despicable terrorist who has killed 50,000 people, martyred our police, soldiers, teachers, and village guards to Turkey. You cannot do this; it is extremely wrong."
BULDAN: I REJECT YOUR WORDS
In response to these remarks, Pervin Buldan, who answered from the podium, rejected the accusations and reacted to Çömez with the words, "I reject your statements. I do not accept disrespect towards this podium."
İYİ PARTY DEPUTY EXPOSED IT
After the debate, Buldan took a short break in the session. After the break, Buldan, who took the floor again, turned to the İYİ Party benches and made a striking claim: "One of your deputies, Mehmet Mustafa Gülban, sent me a sexist message via X two days ago. I am exposing this here."
Following Buldan's remarks, there was a brief silence in the Assembly.
