One of Turkey's longest-running property disputes has ended. The Mardin Cadastre Court, in its 70th hearing, resolved the title deed status of dozens of parcels. As part of the Ministry of Justice's "Zero Cadastre File" project, a cadastral case opened in 1966 in the Nusaybin district, involving 456 rights holders, was concluded after 60 years.

Within the scope of the project, while efforts continue to resolve cadastre cases ongoing for years across Turkey, the case involving 456 rights holders in the Duruca neighborhood of Nusaybin district, ongoing for approximately 60 years, has also been concluded.

The litigation process of the property dispute case, filed at the Mardin Cadastre Court on January 5, 1966, lasted 60 years. The court announced its decision at the 70th hearing held on June 9, in the case involving 456 parties.

COURT DECISION ON REGISTRATION OF PARCELS

At the hearing where the parties and their lawyers were present, the court evaluated the expert reports and share allocation reports submitted to the file, noting that a survey had already been conducted and concluded that a new survey would not contribute to the case. Therefore, it was decided to abandon the intermediate decision regarding a new survey.

In the court's decision, it was ruled to cancel the current cadastre determinations for parcels numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 171, 173, 174, 175, and 176 in the Duruca neighborhood and to register them in the title deed in the name of the rights holders in proportion to the determined shares.

Additionally, the court ruled to cancel the cadastre determinations for parcels numbered 197 and 198 and to register and record these properties in the name of the Treasury.

The decision also stated that, after the reasoned decision is notified to the parties, the appeal route is open before the 5th Civil Chamber of the Diyarbakır Regional Court of Appeal within the legal period.
