In an incident that occurred last Monday night in Argentina, an elderly man was attacked by young people getting out of a minibus as he was getting out of his white Toyota Hilux. Security camera footage shows a young man jumping out of the minibus without it coming to a complete stop, pointing what appears to be a weapon at the driver.
As the young man tried to open the driver's door, the 78-year-old man fired with his .357 Magnum revolver. The young man, shot in the head and chest, fell to the ground, and the minibus quickly fled the scene. The elderly man fired two more shots at the minibus as it drove away.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the young man was carrying a toy gun. Local Prosecutor Diego Rulli announced that he would not file charges against the elderly man, who acted in self-defense with his licensed firearm. The police are searching for the other two suspects in the minibus.
The incident shocked the community as it was the second similar case in Buenos Aires in January. In the first incident, another young man attempting to steal a motorcycle was shot and killed.
