The iconic structure built on a rocky peak in Erzincan's Kemaliye district, reached by 96 steps and which hosted the filming of "Wedding Party 2," has been put up for sale for 30 million Turkish lira.
The house built by retired teacher Bekir Taştan and his wife Nermin Taştan on a rocky summit in Kemaliye district, fulfilling their dream and becoming one of the district's symbols over the years, has been put up for sale for 30 million lira.
REACHED BY 96 STEPS
After their duties in Istanbul, the Taştan couple, seeking a quiet life, came to Kemaliye years ago and started building a house on a rocky area overlooking the district center. Construction materials such as sand, cement, and stone were transported to the base of the cliff using human and animal power, then carried to the summit via a primitive cable car system. Completed after about two years of work, the house is reached by a 96-step staircase carved into the rock.
SOME SCENES OF 'DÜĞÜN DERNEK 2' WERE SHOT HERE
Attracting attention with its location overlooking the valley and district road, the house became one of the most photographed structures in Kemaliye over time and turned into a frequent destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
The structure, which hosted some scenes of the film 'Düğün Dernek 2' directed by Selçuk Aydemir and starring Ahmet Kural, Murat Cemcir, Rasim Öztekin, and Şinasi Yurtsever, also drew interest from film and TV producers.
The Taştan couple, who spend summers in Kemaliye and winters in Istanbul, put the house up for sale at the end of June, setting a price of 30 million lira for the structure, which is considered among the district's symbols.
