South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo stated that he will make every effort to ensure the stable management of state affairs following the National Assembly's decision to dismiss President Yoon Suk Yeol.
According to Yonhap, Han said in a statement to reporters at the government complex in downtown Seoul, "I will put all my efforts into managing state affairs stably during this difficult time."
It was reported that following Han's assumption of office as the acting President after Yoon's dismissal, he will hold a meeting and address the public.
WILL BE ACTING PRESIDENT
The Presidential Security Service (PSS) announced that a security team has been assigned for Han, who will take on the role of Acting President after the National Assembly's decision to dismiss Yoon.
PSS stated that the team will work in cooperation with the Prime Minister's Office to establish detailed security protocols before carrying out their duties.While Han and his wife will receive security protection equivalent to that of the President, it was noted that Yoon's security arrangements will remain unchanged in accordance with relevant laws.
HAS STARTED WORKING
Han instructed Acting Defense Minister Kim Seon-ho to strengthen the military's security posture. Han told Chief of Staff Kim Myung-soo to demonstrate a "solid" security stance based on the alliance with the United States, stating that the reason for this instruction is the current situation with North Korea, which is perceived as a "sensitive" moment for South Korea's security and the possibility of provocations.Han also told Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul to maintain close communication with countries through the alliance with the United States and to actively inform countries that there is no change in South Korea's foreign policy.
