HE ACCIDENTALLY LET IT SLIP
During the conversation, Akdağ mentioned that while asking Hüseyin Tatlı about their childhood, the topic turned to circumcision, and when he asked about his age, he received the following response: "I asked Hüseyin how old he was when he was circumcised. He said, 'I was 3, 4, or 5 years old.' I asked, were you alone? He replied, 'No, I was with my brother.' I asked, 'Who is your brother?' He said, 'İbrahim Tatlıses.'
Akdağ stated that he could not hide his surprise at this response and calculated from Hüseyin Tatlı's words that İbrahim Tatlıses must have been at least 24 years old when he was circumcised, saying, "Hüseyin said: There is a 21-year age difference between my brother and me. So I said, in that case, İbrahim Tatlıses must have been 24-25 years old when he was circumcised. He accidentally let it slip; he was not aware of it."
Considering the conditions of the time, Akdağ evaluated why the circumcision was delayed at this age, saying, "There was scarcity back then. Circumcision was not an easy task. His father's situation was not good. Population papers were also issued late. Perhaps it would have happened before he went to the military, but that did not happen either. He was still uncircumcised when he became famous."
