The AK Party's backstage is lively: The lowest pension payment could rise to 14,500 TL.

The inflation rate to be announced on January 3 will also clarify the increase in pension payments. In the AK Party circles, it is being discussed that the lowest pension will not fall below 13,500 Turkish lira, while it is stated that the figure could rise to 14,500 depending on the number of retirees affected by the increase.

The pension and minimum wage have become a bleeding wound for millions of workers and retirees since the second half of the year due to the decreasing purchasing power. The figures reflected in the power's backstage discussions seem far from meeting expectations.

According to the news from Yücel Kayaoğlu in Turkey; a study to be conducted by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the economic advisors of the AK Party will include alternative proposals for the increase in the lowest pension. An impact analysis will be conducted on topics such as 'the budget cost of the increase and how many retirees it will cover.' The salaries of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees are determined based on the inflation rate of the last six months.

In this context, it is expected that retirees will receive an increase of between 15.5% and 16.5%. However, those with a base salary of 10,700 lira or less will continue to receive 12,500 lira unless a separate arrangement is made, despite this increase. AK Party sources state that the lowest pension will be increased, saying, "Currently, the salaries of 3 million 718 thousand retirees are completed to 12,500 lira. Of these individuals, 2 million 50 thousand have salaries of 10,700 lira or less. In other words, the salary of someone who has 12,450 lira will also be completed to 12,500; the salary of someone who has 7,400 lira will also be completed to 12,500."

"WE WILL LOOK AT THE MINIMUM WAGE"

For this reason, we will first look at how much the minimum wage will increase, and then the increases for retirees will be determined along with the inflation rate to be announced on January 3. After seeing all of this, a study will be conducted regarding the lowest pension. This figure will be increased, but the amount of the increase will be decided after January 3. Because, for example, if it is going to be 13,500, how many people will it cover, what will be the budget cost, or if it is going to be 14,000 lira, how many people will be affected, what will be the burden on the budget? Several alternatives will be brought to the table, and calculations will be made. The certain thing is that the lowest pension will increase," he stated.

"MAXIMUM 14,500"

Among the proposals discussed in the AK Party's backstage and the government, the most prominent one is that the lowest pension should not be below 13,500 lira. At the same time, it is reported that this figure could rise to 14,500 depending on the number of retirees affected by the increase.

POSSIBILITY OF INCREASE ABOVE 12,500

In the backstage discussions, there is also a proposal that the salary increase for those whose salaries are completed to 12,500 lira should be made based on 12,500 lira rather than the base salary. If this proposal is accepted, even if the base salary is 7,400 lira, an increase based on the six-month inflation rate will be on the lowest pension of 12,500 lira. Thus, the current pension of 3 million 718 thousand retirees, which is 12,500 lira, could rise to 14,500 lira.
