President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan lashed out at the opposition with harsh words after the fund allegations raised about Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş. Erdoğan said, "With the tactics they learned from FETÖ scoundrels, no matter what is put in their hands, they attack us without investigating its accuracy." Stating that they will not allow defamation and discrediting campaigns, Erdoğan said, "Whoever lays a hand on the nation's rights, law, and trust will find us against them."
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reacted to the opposition's funding allegations against Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş in his speech at the opening of the Çerkezköy-Kapıkule section of the Halkalı-Kapıkule High-Speed Train Line.
After the allegations voiced by NEW Party deputies Ümit Özlale, Ali Mahir Başarır and Cemal Enginyurt against Minister Göktaş within the scope of the fund investigation, Göktaş had announced that she had filed a criminal complaint against the three deputies.
Speaking after the developments, Erdoğan accused the opposition of targeting the government with unverified allegations.
"NOT A POLITICAL PARTY, AS IF A SLANDER PRODUCTION CENTER"
Arguing that the opposition focuses on criticizing the government instead of producing concrete projects, Erdoğan used the following statements:
"So what are those who constantly criticize us, those who constantly attack us, doing? Whatever they have been doing for 24 years, they are doing the same today. Pay attention; there is no concrete project on their agenda. If you want lies, they have plenty. Apart from populist promises that even they themselves do not believe, they have no proposal that will remedy the people's troubles. All they have is lies, deceit, speculation. Not a political party, but as if a center for producing slander."
"THEY ARE UP TO THEIR THROATS IN CORRUPTION"
Increasing the dose of his criticism, Erdoğan claimed that the opposition voiced the allegations against them without investigating them.
Erdoğan said, "With the tactics they learned from the despicable FETÖ members, whatever is handed to them, they attack us without looking front or back, without investigating whether it is true or false. They attack our values through isolated examples. Let no one take offense. They are sunk up to their throats in corruption and immorality. And then they shamelessly come out and speak against us."
"FIRST YOU WILL ACCOUNT FOR THE MONEY TOWERS"
Responding to the opposition's corruption criticisms, Erdoğan also made harsh accusations regarding municipalities.
"Before saying anything to others, you will account for the money towers," said Erdoğan, continuing his words as follows:
"We have the record of a 32-hour plot; you will account for the baklava boxes you said you watched. You will first account for the municipalities that you turned into a gravy train, into a farm for friends, relatives and cronies, and that you stripped to the bone."
Erdoğan stated that he did not consider this attitude of the opposition as politics or holding accountable on behalf of the public, and said that they would not accept such an approach.
"WE WILL NOT CONSENT TO AN OPERATION AGAINST OUR CADRES"
Arguing that government cadres are being targeted, Erdoğan emphasized that those who commit crimes will be held accountable before the judiciary, but they will not allow individuals to be targeted with unverified accusations.
Erdoğan said, "We will never allow either screen hitmen or slanderers disguised as politicians to act as executioners of honor or carry out extrajudicial executions. We will not consent to an operation being carried out against our cadres through dirty methods, slander and defamation campaigns."
"WHOEVER LAYS A HAND ON THE NATION'S RIGHTS WILL FIND US OPPOSITE THEM"
Giving a message of determination in the fight against corruption, President Erdoğan said that the relevant state institutions would fulfill their duties.
Erdoğan said, "Whoever lays a hand on the nation's rights, law and trust will find us opposite them; they will find all the state's institutions with its judiciary, security and finance."
Stating that they would carry out the process within the framework of justice and fairness, Erdoğan used the following statements: "We will neither fall for the game nor fall into the trap, nor will we let ourselves be carried away by someone's wind of lies."
President Erdoğan called on citizens for common sense, saying that the government has taken the necessary steps and is managing the process meticulously.
