The echoes of the corruption investigation against İBB were announced by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, stating that permission for an investigation has been granted regarding allegations of public damage for 33 out of 130 concerts examined by inspectors.
THEY WILL APPEAL THE DECISION
In a statement from ABB regarding the issue, it was noted that "A series of cultural and artistic events held between 2021-2024 had been under inspection by inspectors for some time. The examination regarding the procurement related to 130 concerts conducted by inspectors has been completed. A decision has been made to grant permission for an investigation regarding allegations of public damage for 33 concerts. We would like to emphasize that these events have been thoroughly examined in previous routine audits by the Court of Accounts and inspections conducted by the Ministry of Interior, and no negative findings have been encountered. The 9 municipal employees subject to the decision and under investigation will appeal to the Regional Administrative Court using their legal rights," the statement said.
WHICH CONCERTS ARE UNDER SCRUTINY?
The concerts of Athena, Güneş, Zeynep Bastık, Selçuk Balcı, Bege, Hadise, Murda, and Candan Erçetin, organized by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality at different times, will be examined.
THE AMOUNTS PAID ARE ASTOUNDING
- 41 million 950 thousand TL was paid for the Tan Taşçı concert on August 30.
- 45 million TL was paid to Ebru Gündeş and her team on October 28-29, 2024.
- 71 million 250 thousand TL was spent on the concerts of Semicenk, Gazapizm, and Edis.
- 78 million 500 thousand TL was spent on the concerts of Murat Boz, Gülşen, and Mor ve Ötesi.
CONFESSIONAL STATEMENT
Mansur Yavaş, in a previous statement regarding the issue, mentioned that they paid 94 million TL to Athena, Güneş, Zeynep Bastık, Selçuk Balcı, Bege, Hadise, Murda, and Candan Erçetin in 4 days, stating, "A technical setup is established once, and all 8 receive services from there. The amount received by Candan Erçetin is again the stamp fee. In addition, there are 8 concerts including Athena, Güneş, Zeynep Bastık, Selçuk Balcı, Hadise, Bege, Candaş Erçetin, and Murda. A single stage is set up, and all 8 receive services at once. A total of 94 million TL. You will divide this by eight," he said.

Former CHP Member of Parliament and Deputy Chairman Eren Erdem stated that a technical cost of 94 million TL would not arise, saying, "Let's say you rented all the equipment for 94 million TL. You could place robots all over Ankara and organize festivals for months. Again, a technical cost of 94,000,000 TL would not arise! These figures are impossible!
