35-year-old Michael Lee Murray requested a refund after realizing that the second-hand Subaru Outback he bought for $4,000 from the Tim Dahle Mazda Southtowne dealership in Sandy, near Salt Lake City, had mechanical issues. When Murray requested a refund for the problematic vehicle, the dealership management stated that the car was sold "as is" and could not be returned. Dealership manager Tyler Slade expressed that they clearly indicated to Murray before the sale that the vehicle needed maintenance. Angered by the rejection, Murray threatened to crash the vehicle into the dealership if they did not return his money. Manager Slade said, "We told him to calm down and that we could find a solution." However, the angry customer did not listen. According to the police report, Murray drove his vehicle into the building's glass doors within minutes of leaving the dealership. Footage taken from inside the dealership shows Murray smashing a table and leaving the dealership while cursing and taking off his jacket. No one was injured in the incident, but the dealership reportedly suffered about $10,000 in damages. The dealership management claimed that they offered to refund Murray's money or provide another vehicle before the incident. Murray was arrested for committing a crime, dangerous behavior, and causing economic damage, and he was released on Tuesday. Speaking to Inside Edition, Murray said, "I was very angry about my money; I lost my temper for a moment. I probably shouldn't have done that; I lost control."
