The family of Medine Kara, who was found dead hanging in her home in Hatay 9 years ago, claimed that their daughter was murdered by her husband Ahmet Kara, to whom she had been married for only a year, and that Ahmet Kara disguised the murder as a suicide. The grieving sister Nuray Değirmenci stated that she found her sister's diary and that her sister had written in this diary about the torture she was subjected to by her husband.
In the Dörtyol district of Hatay, the grieving sister of Medine Kara, who was found hanged in her home 9 years ago, claimed that her sister was murdered by her husband Ahmet Kara, to whom she had been married for only a year. The sister, Nuray Değirmenci, who says the pain of losing her sibling is as fresh as the first day and that she sheds tears every day, stated that she found Medine's diary.
Sister Değirmenci stated that Medine wrote about the torture she endured in her diary.
In the preliminary autopsy report of Medine, who was found hanged in her home on September 8, 2017, it was noted that 'tissue disorder' was detected on the young woman's body, with 'bruised areas' at the level of the shinbone in both legs, and redness at the lower back of the neck. The report also noted bruising on the front of the right knee and on the outer parts of both kneecaps.
AUTOPSY REPORT: DIED DUE TO HANGING
A month after the death, the autopsy report from the Adana Forensic Medicine Group Headquarters stated that Medine Kara committed suicide and died due to hanging. The file was closed based on the report. However, the grieving family claimed that Medine was killed by her husband and objected to the decision. The court determined a contradiction between the on-site autopsy and the report from the Forensic Medicine Institute and lifted the decision of non-prosecution.
SHE WROTE THE TORTURE IN HER DIARY
Meanwhile, the diary in which Medine wrote about the torture she experienced came to light. The unfortunate woman's notes drew attention: "I am sure I will never forget those knife scars on my leg until the end of my life. You threatened me countless times. You brought an unlicensed gun to my home and threatened me with it many times. When I said let's separate, you made threats with that gun, saying 'I will kill your family and I will kill you.' You put the gun to my mouth and threatened to kill me, and I remained silent."
THE CASE OPENED WAS ALSO 'SIMPLE' LIKE THE ACCUSATION
According to Sabah's report, following these notes, a case was filed against Ahmet Kara for the crime of "simple injury." Ahmet Kara, who faced up to 3 years in prison and was tried without detention, did not accept the accusations in the ongoing hearings.
"HE DISGUISED MY SISTER'S DEATH AS SUICIDE"
Nuray Değirmenci, who claims her sister was murdered and visited her grave, demanded that the file be reopened.
The grieving sister said, "My sister was a lively girl, not someone who would commit suicide. She was hanged with the death disguised as suicide. My sister wanted to separate, and he put a gun to her mouth and threatened her with death. While everyone writes beautiful memories in their diary, my sister wrote her pain. Would a person not attend their spouse's funeral? That man did not even attend the funeral. We gave our sister in a wedding dress and received her in a shroud. The files of Gülistan and other unsolved incidents are being reopened and the murders are being solved. Let my sister's file also be reopened."
