The suspect of the vehicle attack on the Christmas market in Germany, Talib A., has been identified as anti-Islam, far-right, and a supporter of Zionism. Following the attack in the city of Magdeburg, where two people were killed and more than 60 were injured, including 15 seriously, the Saudi-born doctor Talib A. was arrested immediately after the incident. It has been revealed that he is anti-Islam, far-right, and a supporter of Zionism. HAS MADE ANTI-ISLAMIC POSTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTSAccording to information shared by the German press regarding the attacker, the 50-year-old perpetrator has been living in Germany since 2006 and has permanent residency in the country. He works as a physician in the city of Bernburg and has made posts on social media indicating that he is "worried about the rise of Islam in Germany." HAS ALSO SHARED A SO-CALLED GREAT ISRAEL MAPThe suspect, who has made social media posts supporting the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and other far-right anti-Islam groups in Europe, has also drawn attention by sharing a so-called great Israel map that partially includes Turkish territories. The German press reported that before the suspect's X account was suspended after the attack, his cover photo featured a rifle, and in his profile information, he accused Germany of "hunting Saudi refugees" both inside and outside the country and "wanting to Islamize Europe," while also holding "the German nation responsible for the execution of Socrates." THREAT TO GERMANYIn a message shared on X in December 2023, the attacker accused the German state of persecuting Saudi refugees and threatened, "I assure you that revenge will come 100%. Even if it costs my life," adding, "Germany will have to pay the price for this. A very high price." In a post from May, the suspect stated, "I seriously expect to die this year. Reason: I will ensure justice at all costs. German authorities are blocking all peaceful paths to justice." In a similar Arabic post during the same period, he threatened, "I assure you that if Germany wants war, we will do it. If Germany wants to kill us, we will kill them, we will die, or we will proudly go to prison. Since we have exhausted all peaceful means, we have encountered new crimes from the police, security, prosecutors, judiciary, and the Ministry of Interior. Peace is of no benefit to them." The German press also reported that the suspect made social media posts containing insults against Christians and Muslims, praised Israel's genocide in Gaza and other attacks, and despite being requested for extradition by Saudi Arabia, he was not sent back to that country.
