The author Elif Çakır revealed the truths of the 'Kabataş incident' for the first time to Haberler.com.

Author Elif Çakır was the guest of Gökay Kalaycıoğlu, the host of the "Haber Bahane" program published on Haberler.com. Çakır first explained the background of the 'Kabataş incident' in which her name was mentioned.

"THERE HAS BEEN A STRONG POLARIZATION IN TURKEY FOR A LONG TIME"

Çakır stated, "Turkey has been going through a strong polarization, ideological and political, for a long time and is divided like a razor's edge." She gave an example from the current agenda regarding the Yenidoğan Çetesi, saying, "What is the political identity of the doctors doing this, who are they photographed with, which party are they close to, which ideology are they close to, how is this viewed from one side, and on the other side, they immediately start hitting each other from here. You want sensation. You want unreal material. The Kabataş incident was a bit like that."

"I AM NOT AMONG THE JOURNALISTS WHO FIRST ANNOUNCED THE KABATAŞ INCIDENT"

Çakır expressed that the incident was overwhelmed by too much perception and false information, and the truth of the event was lost. Elif Çakır said, "So who first announced this on social media? For example, if you ask those who lynched this in Turkey, no one would even remember. Only Elif remains in mind because. I must have been chosen. I am not among the journalists who first announced the Kabataş incident."

"I DID NOT SAY I SAW THE VIDEO"

Çakır, who stated that she experienced the helplessness of not being able to express herself regarding the Kabataş incident, said, "The Prime Minister of the country narrated this incident at his party's group meeting. All opposition and pro-government television channels in Turkey broadcasted this speech. The Prime Minister of the country announces this live. He says, 'My mayor's daughter-in-law had such and such an incident.' There is no one named Elif Çakır around. Then, the ruling party's deputies said, 'This incident is real. We will publish the videos of this incident within a certain time.' Am I there? I am not. So what happened next? Did those who said they saw the video come out? They did. Am I the one who said I saw the video? I am not."

"I ONLY INTERVIEWED ZEHRA"

Çakır stated that she only interviewed Zehra Develioğlu regarding the incident, saying, "Whatever Zehra narrated, I wrote these down. In quotation marks. It is not my own opinion. While stating my opinion in quotation marks, I mentioned that I was affected by this incident. Because I am a mother. First, I am a human being. I am a woman. The statement is essential. Did the daughter-in-law of that ruling party's mayor narrate this? She did. I took it. I wrote these down."

"EVERYONE WAS FORGOTTEN, BUT ELIF ÇAKIR WAS NOT"

Çakır expressed that everyone and everything related to the Kabataş incident was forgotten, saying, "Zehra Gelin was forgotten. The Prime Minister who said this was of no concern to anyone. The mayor was of no concern to anyone. Everyone who said, 'I saw this,' 'I saw the CCTV footage, we will publish the video' was forgotten. The only one who was not forgotten is Elif Çakır."

"THERE WAS NO COST TO SPEAKING ABOUT ELIF ÇAKIR"

Çakır explained the reason for being the only person remembered regarding the incident, saying, "To Erdoğan. There would be a cost to making very harsh statements about this Kabataş incident, but there would probably be no cost to saying it to Elif."

Elif Çakır stated that she did not do anything other than conveying Zehra Develioğlu's words, saying, "They made me experience the greatest victimization."
