German automotive giant Opel is moving the production of its best-selling light commercial vehicle, the Combo, to Turkey.
The model will begin production at the Tofaş Factory in Bursa starting in the third quarter of 2026. Developed with German engineering, the Combo will now hit the road with the "Made in Türkiye" label.
TWO DIFFERENT ENGINEERING CULTURES WILL COME TOGETHER
With the inclusion of the Combo in its production program, Opel will expand its locally produced light commercial vehicle family in Turkey. Production of the Zafira, Vivaro, and Vivaro Panel Van models had previously also begun in Bursa.
Yiğit Yantaç, Brand Director of Opel Turkey, stated that resuming production in Turkey holds strategic as well as emotional significance for the brand. Yantaç noted that the Combo coming to life in Bursa with Turkish engineering and Tofaş's production capacity brings together two different engineering cultures.
