BAD ODORS DROVE SHOPKEEPERS TO DESPAIR

The incident occurred in an empty shop on Taya Hatun Street in Cankurtaran Neighborhood. According to information obtained, bad odors began to emanate from the empty shop that was sealed due to a demolition decision. Shopkeepers on the same street noticed the situation and reported it to authorities. Upon the report, police, health, fire, and municipal police teams were dispatched to the area.

Upon the report, the arriving teams checked the interior using a ladder. It was determined that spoiled food products and dead cats were present inside the empty shop. Municipal police teams initiated a comprehensive effort to clean the shop.

Emrah Baygın, a shopkeeper who reported the bad odor, stated that authorities are working solution-oriented, saying, "We are in the alley behind Gülhane Park. They had sealed this place before. A bad odor has been coming from the shop for 5 days. Customers cannot sit here. When they do, they leave. The municipal police teams are currently working with a results-driven approach.
