Türkiye's Embassy in Baku denied claims that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a secret meeting and gave various instructions during his visit to Azerbaijan. Stating that the news in some Azerbaijani press outlets does not reflect the truth, the Embassy also announced that the letter alleged to have been sent to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) does not exist. In the statement, it was emphasized that the claims in question aim to harm Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations.

The Embassy of Türkiye in Baku reported that claims in some news reports that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan "held a secret meeting" during his visit to Azerbaijan are unfounded.

In a statement from the Embassy, it was stated that a news article published in some news outlets, primarily Qafqazinfo, titled "The behind-the-scenes of Hakan Fidan's meeting at GYF" was based on unfounded claims.

BOTH THE LETTER AND THE CLAIMS ARE COMPLETELY FALSE

In the statement, which noted that the publication in question consisted of disinformation efforts by circles aiming to harm relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, it was recorded that during Fidan's Baku visit he took courtesy photographs with many people, among them members of an organization with legal status in Azerbaijan.

The statement said: "The claims that our Minister held a secret meeting and gave various instructions are absolutely not true."

Additionally, the statement noted that slanders with no connection to reality had been put forward through a letter alleged to have been written to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, and drew attention to the fact that the alleged letter does not exist.

"DELIBERATE LIES AIMED AT INCITING THE PEOPLE OF AZERBAIJAN AGAINST TÜRKİYE"

It was emphasized that the expressions in the news article — "plans to interfere in internal affairs," "intelligence operations," "coup and chaos plans," and "training influence agents" — are also deliberate lies aimed at inciting the people of Azerbaijan against Türkiye.

In the statement, a call was made to the publics of Azerbaijan and Türkiye not to give credence to the said slanders and manipulative claims unrelated to reality.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

On the Qafqazinfo news site, it had been claimed that within the scope of Fidan's Baku visit, he visited a foundation established by Turkish philanthropists, held a secret meeting there, and gave certain instructions. The news article in question was later removed from publication.
