A bear that climbed an electricity pole in the Çaykara district of Trabzon died after coming into contact with a high-voltage power line and being electrocuted.
The bear, which was electrocuted and killed upon contact with the high-voltage line, remained hanging on the pole it climbed. Bystanders who saw the bear could not understand why it climbed the electricity pole. The reason why the bear climbed the pole has become a matter of curiosity.

The incident was recorded on a mobile phone camera by local residents. One of the people with the citizen filming the bear said to the dead animal, "What are you doing there? Hopefully it wasn't electrocuted," while the person filming said, "It's dead, man, it's dead, look at its head," indicating the bear had died.
